About the Programme

Doctoral Programme.
We are pleased to offer the following two courses for 2023 entry.
MRes/PhD Business & Management
Our fully-funded MRes/PhD Business & Management programme will give you the opportunity to make your mark on the business landscape, by having the freedom to research a host of disciplines that influence society and business. We aim to attract independent thinkers who have the ambition to create their own pathway to future academic positions.
MRes/PhD Finance & Economics
Jointly run with the Department of Economics, our fully-funded MRes/PhD Finance & Economics programme will provide you with a thorough understanding of state of the art research techniques and in-depth appreciation of principal areas of interest for researchers in finance and economics.
We value our doctoral researchers and aim to attract students from across the globe who are independent thinkers, restless to learn more and challenge themselves.

Our faculty is made up of world leading experts, and with more than a third of our staff from countries outside the UK, our faculty is truly international. All our faculty are research-active, and the majority supervise doctoral research.
Throughout the PhD element of your programme you will be advised by one or two supervisors with appropriate research expertise and interests. Your supervisors will be nominated when you reach the end of the MRes element of your programme.
Length of programme
Our MRes/PhD Business & Management programme is a full-time two + three year programme (five years in total).
Our MRes/PhD Finance & Economics programme is a full time two + four year programme (six years in total).
Funding Notes
Both our MRes/PhD Finance & Economics and MRes/PhD Business & Management programmes are fully funded. All students accepted onto the programme will have their full fees paid and will receive an annual stipend of approximately £18,000 per annum throughout their course and subject to satisfactory progress.
