我的点评：SSCI中科院2区，初审很快，三天拒稿。审稿反应和审稿速度比国内CSSCI高效太多了！！流程如下：07 October 2025 Manuscript Submitted；

I am sorry to have to tell you that I have decided not to send it out for review. I know that this will be disappointing news for you, but, with increasing pressure on the space available in the journal, we do have to be selective at this stage.
My reason for reaching this decision is that the focus of the article and conceptualization appear to make it more suitable for a journal specializing in teaching and learning.
Your manuscript may be better suited to one of Taylor & Francis’ other journals, and the Taylor & Francis editorial team might be in touch with some specific suggestions.

我的点评：作为第一位点评人，我想有必要写的稍微详细一点，也算在诺大的网络世界中留下一点小小的足迹。
前言：
受阙伟民老师博士论文影响，自从进入历史地理学领域学习以来JHG我一直在看。不得不说有的文章确实写得天马行空、难以捉摸、不好评价，但更多的文章水平很高，创新性很足，带给了我个人很多启发。不得不感慨，以地理学为根基的历史地理学研究和以历史学为根基的历史地理学研究存在显著差异，这并非高下之分，而是旨趣不同。
打算投文章的时候其实没想很久，就感觉在旨趣和创新性上和JHG相符，所以就大胆一投。
过程：
1月投稿，3月进入外审，4月外审结束返修，6月返修结束，8月拒稿。
感受：
国外系统流程透明，编辑认真负责，花费的时间也不算长。总共3位外审，2位历史学者，另1位不确定，但评审意见可以看出有浓厚的地理学背景。至于评审意见，简而言之，审稿人审稿认真细致，给出的意见中肯详细，提出的问题有洞察力和启发性，其中一位审稿人把所有他认为重要且需要的文献按照规范格式单独列出以供参考，我必须respect。我对审稿意见唯一的意见是操作性不是那么强，字数和研究的边界使得很难对有价值的问题面面俱到，很可惜，这可能也是我最后被拒的原因。
审稿意见给了我很多信心，所以最后被拒也是难免沮丧，但仍然很感谢审稿专家和编辑的付出。
建议：
1. 杂志字数有10000的上限（含脚注），建议投稿的字数空出部分，这样修改的时候才能游刃有余。
2. 建议投稿之前再多审视自己文章的旨趣和创新性，究竟适不适合投稿JHG
3. 认真对待文章的引言、文献梳理和方法论，可以多看JHG上其他文章的结构
4. 文章研究的（小）问题是否能够为更大的（历史）地理学议题和基础理论作出贡献，能够联系起来无疑是更好的。
以上纯属个人经验之谈，真心希望这些想法和建议能够帮助到其他的投稿人，也祝愿JHG能够越办越好。

我的点评：第一次尝试投稿SSCI，还是中科院二区的季刊。Submission received当天和第二天相继走完Technical check和Editorial assignment环节，并进入With editor状态。官网说Submission to first decision 平均 6 days。但是到第12天才收到rejection letter，编辑说没有决定送外审，因为The Journal of Educational Change does not consider studies in higher education。也就是说，这本杂志不收高等教育领域的文章。

As there is a high volume of high-quality manuscripts submitted to Games and Culture, we must often turn away papers that might be publishable but which we do not have sufficient space for. We are still a paper-based journal where space is therefore limited. We wish you good luck and hope you will find a suitable home for your paper. We'd recommend presenting the paper at a suitable conference such as the upcoming DIGRA to gain additional peer feedback or try the journals ‘Games and Simulation’ or ‘Journal of Virtual Worlds’.
