Project description

The University of Agder, Faculty of Social Science, invites applicants for a full-time position as PhD Research Fellow within the area of democracy and citizenship for a period of three years, or four years with 25% of required work duties. The faculty is located at Campus Kristiansand. The starting date is to be negotiated with the faculty.

Democracy and citizenship are the overarching research theme of the position, and we advise applicants to elaborate their project proposals around this core topic. The following disciplines/fields of research are represented at the Faculty of Social Sciences: Regional planning, social studies/social studies didactics (teacher education), information systems, social work/child protection, political science, sociology, geography, and development studies. The proposal should be based in one of these fields or disciplines, and we expect applicants to suggest which research group(s) their project proposal could fit.

Selection criteria

Further information about the positions as PhD Research Fellows can be found in the Regulations Concerning Terms and Conditions of Employment for the post of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Research Fellow, Research Assistant and Resident.

The candidate must hold a completed master's degree within social sciences or a similar area, with an average grade level of B or better (including the master's thesis).

Applicants who are in the final stages of their master’s degree may also apply.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Evidence of abilityto publish academically in Norwegian or English is a plus.
