We are looking for top motivated chinese research associates or phd students with (potential) scholarships to do high quality research in our research group.
Successfully selected candidates will be given a conditional acceptance letter to apply for a scholarship at the chinese scholarship council (http://www.csc.edu.cn/) or the german academic exchange service (daad) (https://www.daad.de/en/) upon request.
Who we are:
Prof. Lehmann is a full time principal scientist in Amazon Alexa and at the same time a honorary professor at the Technical University of Dresden. He is also a member of Institute for Applied Informatics (InfAI) and supervising researchers in the Nature-Inspired Machine Intelligence (NIMI) Group which is led by Dr. Vahdati (https://infai.org/nature-inspired-machine-intelligence/). Previously, Prof. Lehmann was leading a research group of smart data analytics (SDA) (http://sda.cs.uni-bonn.de/) which is one of the top leading groups in machine learning, semantic web, data analytics and related domains and technologies. He is a top expert in machine learning, and has an outstanding academic influence in related areas of knowledge graph, question answering system, linked data, semantic web. Dr. Vahdati is a fellow of Oxford University and since two years is leading the NIMI research group with a focus on Representation Learning. SDA and NIMI members have been involved in many reputable national, European and international research activities and projects.
Open Position and Research Topics:
● Machine Learning Techniques for/using Knowledge Graphs
● Representation Learning and Reasoning
● Natural Language Processing for/using Knowledge Graphs
● Mathematical Foundation of Knowledge-aware AI
● Multimodal / Temporal Knowledge Graphs and Embedding Models
● Conversational AI and Dialogue Systems
Requirements:
We are welcoming students holding master degrees in a relevant field (computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics). We expect you to have outstanding analytical and abstraction skills as well as very good abilities in programming (PyThon, PyTorch, HuggingFace). You should have good communication and academic writing skill in English language.
Supervision and Facilities:
Through the research process and your doctoral studies, you will receive continued supervision and will also be provided with all required means for your research at the NIMI/InfAI-Dresden and will benefit from facilities at Technical University of Dresden.
