Project description
The department consists of more than 15 full-time research-oriented faculty members from top economics and finance departments (e.g., Lausanne, Rochester, Carnegie Mellon). It provides an international and stimulating environment with regular top research seminars and several top-quality conferences. The department collaborates with the Luxembourg financial center, the European Stability Mechanism, the Central Bank of Luxembourg and other economics and financial institutions located in Luxembourg.
Selection criteria
Candidates who already hold a research-oriented Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Financial engineering, Econometrics, Statistics or other related fields (ideally with a quantitative focus) may directly join the doctoral school. For other candidates, depending on the specific student’s degree, the full program or some additional courses of the MSc in Quantitative Economics & Finance (MScQEF) at the University of Luxembourg have to be completed in the first year.
Candidates with a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or another quantitative subject are particularly encouraged to apply.
