邓达克理工学院招收人工智能博士
About the Project
Keywords; Digital Health, Sports Analytics, Artificial Intelligence,
The development and advancement of digital devices and wearable technology such as smartphones, smartwatches and smart wearable devices has created a new dimension concerning the study of human behaviour. The data provided by wearable technology has significantly contributed to advancements in our understanding of how physical activity contributes to human health and performance. In this project we are examining the potential for Artificial Intelligence technology to automatically recognise and analyse different types of athletic activity.
The successful candidate will focus on activities recorded with a single device type. A significant challenge in these environments, in large part due to the time-burden, is to extract (commonly known as “cutting”) individual activities (e.g., drills) from the training session data of each athlete on the team. The candidate will investigate the potential to develop an intelligent recommender system for drill planning based upon the automatic segmentation and analysis of particular parameters, activities and scenarios concerning team sport training and competition.
Informal enquiries relating to the project should be sent to fergal.mccaffery@dkit.ie Please note, canvassing will render a candidate ineligible.

Masters degree in computer science, data analytics, statistics or related discipline. Demonstrable knowledge of pattern recognition, recommender systems, machine learning or Artificial Intelligence. A demonstrable interest in Sports Science.
