About the Project
The Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina is currently seeking a PhD level applicant who are interested in pursuing a research‐focused doctoral degree on the topic of childhood obesity. The candidate, with a focus on children, overweight or obesity, obesogenic behaviours that include diet, sleep, physical activity, screen time, or sedentary behaviour, and their measurement are invited to apply. PhD students will be integrally involved in the studies conducted by the Arnold Childhood Obesity Initiative research group and the Research Center for Child Wellbeing. These include measurement, observational, and intervention studies that are funded by the National Institutes of Health and are designed to understand the etiology, prevention, and treatment of childhood obesity and its associated behaviours. The candidate will have the opportunity to be part of a vibrant team of faculty, staff, and students located within the Arnold School of Public Health. The position is fully funded and include tuition and a stipend that is commensurate with the NIH rate.
