Recruiting Postdoctoral Associate in Cancer Biology

Fully funded postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Ming Chen in the Department of Pathology at the Duke Cancer Institute and Duke University School of Medicine.

We are seeking postdoctoral researchers interested in the study of metastasis, PTEN biology, and immunotherapies. Research in the Chen lab is focused on understanding the molecular and genetic events that contribute to cancer progression and metastasis (Lee et al., Science 364(6441), 2019; Chen et al., Precis Clin Med 2:183, 2019; Chen et al., J Clin Invest129:215, 2019; Chen et al., Nat Genet 50:206, 2018)

Using a combination of mouse genetics, omics technologies, cross-species analyses, and in vitro approaches, we aim to identify cancer cell–intrinsic and –extrinsic mechanisms driving the aggressiveness of cancer, with a long–term goal of developing therapeutic strategies for preventing and treating human cancer.

Postdocs are provided with outstanding fringe benefits and paid at a salary that matches the NIH NRSA level according to years of experience. The applicant should have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent title in biomedical science or a related field. Candidate who is highly motivated and independent is preferred. Expertise in biochemistry, immunology, signaling pathways, or in vivo mouse work is highly desirable but not required.

Please submit a cover letter describing research experience and interests as well as expected starting date, a CV, and the name of three references by email to Dr. Ming Chen at: ming.chen318@duke.edu. Evaluation will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
