Yifan (Evan) Peng，博士，香港大学助理教授，Stanford博士后，UBC博士，ZJU本硕。研究兴趣为硬件和软件协同设计在成像、显微、显示、VRARMR等领域的应用。已在计算机图形学、计算机视觉、光学等领域顶级期刊和会议发表数十篇论文(SIGGRAPH, Optica, CVPR, Science Advances, etc.)，担任数个国际会议程序委员(PC)、会议主席(Session Chair)、及审稿人(Reviewer)。发起计算光学领域新锐学术公众号IntelligentOptics，担任图形学和增强现实线上交流平台GAMES执委。Dr. Peng在海内外学术圈及工业界均拥有广泛且深入的合作或联络(Stanford, Princeton, UBC, KAUST, CMU, Rice, ZJU, Tsinghua, Nvidia, MSR, Meta, Ford, etc.)

Dr. Evan Y. Peng is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong. Before joining HKU, he was a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Stanford University. He received my PhD in Computer Science from the Imager Lab, the University of British Columbia, both his MSc and BS in Optical Science and Engineering from State Key Lab of Modern Optical Instrumentation, Zhejiang University.

He has been working on several Neural + X projects for cameras, displays, microscopes, and rendering. His unique and cross-disciplinary approach to research has been well received in multiple professional communities (OSA/OPTICA, ACM SIGGRAPH, IEEE, SPIE, SID). He is also serving several professional roles, for instance technical committee, reviewer, and session chair, in several academic venues.

The group of Dr. Peng in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong has multiple openings for fully funded research postgraduate students (Ph.D., Spring/Fall 2023), and postdoctoral researcher positions.

The research lies in the interdisciplinary field of Optics, Graphics, Vision, and Artificial Intelligence, particularly with the focus of: Computational Optics, Sensing, and Display; Holography & VR/AR/MR; Computational Microscope Imaging; Low-level Computer Vision; Inverse Rendering; Human-centered Visual & Sensory Systems.  Refer to www.eee.hku.hk/~evanpeng/ for more details and recent publications.

Qualifications and how to apply: This is a field riding across optics and computer science. We are looking for highly motivated students with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with science and engineering background, such as electrical engineering, computer science, physics, neuroscience, etc. Demonstration of track-record of publication is highly appreciated.
