Prof. Chun Kit Kwok, an associate professor of the Chemistry Department at the City University of Hong Kong, engaged in nucleic acid chemistry and biology.
He has obtained many awards owing to his excellent research including the Royal Society International Exchange Fellowship, Croucher Innovation Award, CityU President Award, and in 2021, Dr. Kwok was recognized as a member of the Hong Kong Young Academy of Science (YASHK) and Hong Kong Institute for Advanced Study Rising Star in Chemistry.
Also, he has been invited to write reviews and feature articles as a corresponding author for prestigious journals such as Trends in Biochemical Sciences, Trends in Biotechnology, Nature Plants, Nature Chemical Biology, Nucleic Acid Research, Cold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology, etc.
Recently he has published more than 50 research articles in prestigious journals including Nature, Nature Methods, Nature Communications, Nature Protocols, Cell Genomics, Cell Reports, Genome Biology, Nucleic Acid Research, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and Chemical Science.
Since 2016, Prof. Kwok’s lab has established many collaboration projects with prestigious Universities (Cambridge University, Oxford University, Harvard Univesity, UC San Francisco, Tsinghua University, National University of Singapore, Sun Yat-sen University, University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and etc.).
His current research is focused on “exploring the role of RNA structures and interactions in biology”, “developing targeting tools for detection, imaging, the intervention of important RNA structures and interactions”, as well as “inventing innovative nucleic acid-based technologies for sensing chemical pollutants and biological toxins”.
