The Functional Organic Materials Lab led by Professor Xiaoran Hu in the Department of Chemistry and Bioinspired Institute at Syracuse University is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to conduct research on functional polymers and/or novel drug delivery systems.
The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in one or several of the following broadly defined areas:
(1) Drug delivery. Experience with proteins and peptides, and/or gene-therapeutics (pDNA, siRNA, mRNA) is preferred.
(2) Polymer chemistry, nanomaterial self-assembly, biorthogonal chemistry, and/or photoswitches.
(3) PROTAC, immunotherapy, STING, sonotherapy, or other novel therapy methods.
(4) Supramolecular materials.
Some of the responsibilities include:
· Design, synthesis, and characterization of small molecules and macromolecules;
· Construct and characterize nanoparticles for optimal performance as drug delivery vehicles or sensors;
· Analyze and interpret obtained data;
· Draft manuscripts for publication.
The initial appointment will be for one year, with potential for renewal for the following years, pending annual review of performance and continued availability of funding.
