ABOUT THE JOB
The Jihye Yun lab at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center (Genetics department) works on untangling the relationship between diet, metabolism, microbiome, and cancer with an emphasis on discovering novel strategies to prevent and treat cancers.
Candidate must have a doctoral degree in analytical chemistry or related disciplines and should have extensive experience LC-MS/MS instrument (accurate mass).
Candidate should have in-depth technical knowledge in the field of metabolism (preferably human and mammalian), identification and quantitative analysis of global metabolomics, and isotope-labeled metabolomics. Additional experiences in metabolic flux analysis and computational skills are preferred.
Candidates should be enthusiastic about collaborative and interdisciplinary research, be motivated to work together with team members and demonstrate excellent scientific communication skills.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The individual will learn experimental methods related to the study of dietary effects on colon cancer development using mice, cell lines, and organoids as a model system. They will work closely with the PI to learn how to write and submit manuscripts, writing fellowship and grant applications, and present their work at national and international conferences. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants with a PhD in analytical chemistry.
