almost和nearly的区别

一般情况下，almost和nearly都表示“几乎，差不多”，两者可以互换。
almost 和 nearly 在用法上既有相同之处，也有不同点。
一、相同点：
在单纯表示"时间、程度、进度"时，almost=nearly。
My homework is almost/nearly finished.
I go to work by bike almost/nearly every day.
二、不同点
1.almost 可与no, nothing, none, never,no one, nobody等连用，此时不能用 nearly 代替。
Almost no one believed him.
2.almost还可以表示十分相似（但又不完全相同）。
The dog understands everything. He is almost human.
3. nearly前面可以用not, very, pretty等词修饰，而almost则不能。
The car is pretty nearly new.
这辆汽车几乎是全新的。
not nearly 远不如
He had $20, but that was not nearly enough for the trip.
他有二十元,但这远远不够旅途费用。
