英语中的就近原则和就远原则

1.就近原则：就是谓语动词的人称和数与它靠近的作主语的词语保持一致。

知识点：

当由either...or...，neither...nor..., not...but..., ...or..., not only...but also...等连接的并列成分做主语时，其谓语要与靠近的主语保持一致。

 there be结构也遵循就近原则。

Neither you nor he goes to school today.

 Either he or I am right.

There is a book on the desk.

There are many people in the park.

2.就远原则：谓语要与较远的主语保持一致。

知识点：当主语后面跟有but, except, besides, like, with, as well as, no less than, along with, in addition to, rather than, together with等引出的短语时，要用就远原则。

The teacher， as well as the students is looking forward to the weekend.

A woman with her husband goes out for a walk everyday.

根据上述例子，我们可以看出“就远原则”的主语是第一个，后面紧跟的词组不是真正的并列主语，因此谓语还是和第一个主语保持一致。
