These guidelines are in accordance with the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals (known as the Vancouver style), determined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors
The Israel Medical Association Journal (IMAJ) will accept for consideration original manuscripts that have not or will not be submitted or published elsewhere before appearing in IMAJ. This restriction does not apply to abstracts or proceedings of scientific meetings. If any part of the article (e.g., a table) has been published previously, the author must obtain permission from the publisher (or journal) and acknowledge such in full. The Editor also welcomes Book Reviews and Letters.

Articles will be sent for peer review to at least two experts at the editor’s discretion.Authors may recommend reviewers in their field, in Israel or abroad, but the Journal is not obligated to consult the reviewers suggested.
Study Protocols
Human and animal studies submitted to the Journal are required to have received formal approval by the author’s Institutional Review Board, and clinical studies must adhere to the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.
