《食品前沿(英文)》(Food Frontiers)期刊介绍
Food Frontiers是由西北大学、南昌大学、浙江大学、江苏大学和福建农林大学五校与Wiley出版集团合作出版的开放获取期刊,由科睿唯安全球高被引科学家聂少平教授和肖建波教授共同担任创刊主编。
Food Frontiers主要刊载食品科学领域新颖的基础研究、前沿综述和方法指南,编委会由来自中国、澳大利亚、保加利亚、法国、意大利、日本、葡萄牙、马来西亚、伊朗、罗马尼亚、韩国、西班牙、土耳其、美国等14个国家及港澳地区的35位专家学者组成,其中科睿唯安全球高被引科学家12人,国际编委20人,国内编委15人,大部分编委具有多年担任食品领域主流国际学术期刊主编、副主编、编委或执行客座编辑的经历。期刊于2020年1月正式出版发行,编辑团队将努力把Food Frontiers打造成为食品领域由我国主导的国际一流期刊,使其成为全球食品科学研究人员交流的重要平台。

Author Guidelines
1. SUBMISSION
Thank you for your interest in Food Frontiers. Submissions should consist of content that has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere except as a brief abstract in the proceedings of conferences or symposiums.
The submission system will prompt you to use an ORCID ID (a unique author identifier) to help distinguish your work from that of other researchers as well as develop your personal profile in a worldwide platform.
All submissions will be handled and processed using the ScholarOne online submission system.
A cover letter should be included in the 'Cover Letter Field' of the ScholarOne system. The text can be entered directly into the field or uploaded as a file.
The cover letter must contain:
A statement confirming the paper has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere except as a brief abstract in the proceedings of a scientific meeting or symposium.
An acknowledgment that all authors have contributed significantly; and in keeping with the latest guidelines of the International Committee of the Journal Editors, a description of each author’s contribution to the paper should be provided, i.e., what role each author played.
A statement confirming that all authors are in agreement with the content of the manuscript.
In addition, authors should clearly state the motivation behind and novelty of their research in the cover letter. Authors should also clarify key results and the advances compared to previous research.

2. AIMS AND SCOPE
Food Frontiers is a multidisciplinary and peer-reviewed journal that will address the growing scientific interest in all areas of food research, especially in one of the biggest challenges of our time: Sustainably achieving a global food chain. The editors welcome original research articles, comprehensive reviews, perspectives and views on food chemistry, food nutrition and function, food toxicology and safety, food authenticity, food quality and design, food engineering, food analysis, food processing/storage, food microbiology, sensory science, diets and health, food packaging, food sustainability and food policy. The readership of the journal includes researchers, policy-makers and engineers from academia, government and industry.
3. MANUSCRIPT TYPES
(1) Original Articles
Description: Reports of original studies within the journal’s scope.
Word limit: No strict word limit; however, it is recommended to keep within 5,000 words including the abstract but excluding references, tables and figures.
Abstract: Briefly describe the content of the article in 260 words.
References: No restriction on the number of references; the American Psychological Association reference style should be used.
Figures/Tables: No restriction on the number of figures/tables. They should be submitted together with the main text of the article and properly prepared and numbered as described in these guidelines.
Keywords: 3–6 keywords to highlight the main subject areas of the article.
(2) Review Articles
Description: Reviews are comprehensive analyses of a specific topic.
Word limit: No strict word limit; however, it is recommended to keep within 8,000 words including abstract but excluding references, tables and figures.
Abstract: Briefly describe the content of the article in 260 words.
References: No restriction on the number of references; the American Psychological Association reference style should be used.
Figures/Tables: Minimum of 1 table/figure. They should be submitted together with the main text of the article and properly prepared and numbered as described in these guidelines.
Keywords: 3–6 keywords to highlight the main subject areas of the article.
(3) Editorials
Description: Written by editorial board members, invited authors or editors.
Word limit: 1,000 words maximum.
Abstract: Not required.
Figures/Tables: Maximum of 2 figures/tables. They should be submitted together with the main text of the article and properly prepared and numbered as described in these guidelines
References: Maximum of 5 references; the American Psychological Association reference style should be used.
Keywords: Not required.
(4) Highlights
Description: Reports on new findings that will substantially and immediately affect the field of food science. New findings should be significant and explicitly highlighted in this article type.
Word limit: Maximum of 1,500 words including abstract but excluding references, tables and figures.
Abstract: Not required.
References: Maximum of 35; the American Psychological Association reference style should be used.
Figures/Tables: Maximum of 4.
Keywords: 3–6 keywords to highlight the main subject areas of the article.
Supporting information: Mandatory for this article type. Detailed methods and important experimental or computational data that support the original findings must be provided as Supporting Information.
(5) Profiles
Description: Interviews or introductions of top tier scientists in the field of food science.
Word limit: 1200 words maximum.
Abstract: Not required.
References: 5 maximum and the American Psychological Association system of referencing should be used.
Figure/Tables: 1 maximum.
Keywords: Not required.
4. PREPARING YOUR SUBMISSION
Parts of the Manuscript
The submitted file should be presented in the following order:
Title, abstract and keywords;
Main text;
References;
Tables (each table complete with title and footnotes);
Figure legends; and
Supporting information (if relevant). Supporting information should be supplied as separate files.
Title Page
The title page should contain:
A short informative title that contains the major key words. The title should not contain abbreviations (see Wiley's best practice SEO tips);
A short running title of less than 40 characters;
The full names of the authors;
The author's institutional affiliations at which the work was carried out; and
Acknowledgements.
The present address of any author, if different from that where the work was carried out, should be supplied in a footnote.
