Author Guidelines
1. SUBMISSION
Thank you for your interest in the Australasian Journal on Ageing. Please read the complete Author Guidelines carefully prior to submission, including the section on copyright. To ensure fast peer review and publication, manuscripts that do not adhere to the following instructions will be returned to the corresponding author for technical revision before undergoing peer review.
Note that submission implies that the content has not been published in full or submitted for publication elsewhere except as a brief abstract in the proceedings of a scientific meeting or symposium. Where the manuscript has been previously published in part, however, it may still be publishable in the journal. In such instances the previous publication must be acknowledged and disclosed in the cover letter, and a copy should be sent for the Editor to consider eligibility of the second article for publication. This is particularly important in the case of published reports that have been developed into scholarly manuscripts.
Once you have prepared your submission in accordance with the Guidelines, manuscripts should be submitted online at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/aaja
We look forward to your submission.

3. EDITORIAL POLICIES AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS
Editorial Review and Acceptance
The acceptance criteria for all manuscripts are the quality and originality of the research or innovation and its significance to our readership. Except where otherwise stated, manuscripts are double-blind peer reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers and one Editor, with further review by the managing Editor. Final acceptance or rejection rests with the Editors, who reserve the right to refuse any material for publication.
Manuscripts should be written in a clear, concise, direct style. Where contributions are judged acceptable for publication on the basis of content, the Editor and the Publisher reserve the right to modify typescripts to eliminate ambiguity and repetition and improve communication between author and reader.
Data Sharing and Data Accessibility
The Australasian Journal on Ageing expects that data supporting the results in the paper will be archived in an appropriate public repository. Authors are required to provide a data availability statement to describe the availability or the absence of shared data. When data have been shared, authors are required to include in their data availability statement a link to the repository they have used, and to cite the data they have shared. Whenever possible the scripts and other artefacts used to generate the analyses presented in the paper should also be publicly archived. If sharing data compromises ethical standards or legal requirements then authors are not expected to share it."
See the Standard Templates for Author Use to select an appropriate data availability statement for your dataset.
