Interventions to Prevent and Reduce Burnout, Depression, and Suicide in Nurses/Clinicians/ Healthcare Leaders and Learners as well as System Interventions and New Models of Care to Enhance Wellness Cultures and Reduce Burnout.
Nurses, clinicians, and health science students continue to struggle with the ramifications of work-related stressors and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Roughly 35-54% of nurses and clinicians and 45-60% of medical students report symptoms of burnout. Unresolved, burnout can lead to depression and suicide. These issues have reached such epidemic proportions that the U.S. Surgeon General recently released an advisory for addressing health worker burnout. The advisory outlines the negative impacts that burnout has on health workers, patients, health care systems, and our communities. Further, the advisory makes a call to researchers to share findings about burnout and well-being in health care workers. Therefore, this is a call for papers on this highly important topic – especially system interventions and new models of care to enhance wellness cultures and reduce burnout. Deadline for submission is October 1, 2022 for a special edition of Worldviews in early 2023. This special issue of Worldviews on Evidence-based Nursing, ranked #5 out of 118 journals in the ISI Journal Citation ReportsÒ Ranking with an Impact Factor of 4.35, will consider original articles for this special focused issue of the journal that include:
