Submission of articles and reviewing procedure
The articles should be submitted electronically via email sent at jjp@taubenschlagfoundation.pl in an open document format, preferably .doc or .rtf, and a pdf.
Article submission guidelines
The procedure of reviewing the articles submitted to the JJP is consistent with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Republic of Poland.
By submitting articles, the authors agree to the reviewing procedure. Submitted articles are evaluated by the editors from the formal point of view and then distributed to reviewers. The JJP follows the ‘double-blind review’ procedure, in which the reviewers and authors anonymous throughout the entire process. Each submitted paper is sent to one reviewer specialising in the subject of the paper. The authors are informed about the result of the reviewing procedure.

Bibliographic references
Constructing notes, please, remember that neither Oxford nor Harvard systems are accepted by the editors; we also do not accept articles with endnotes.
References cited for the first time must be given in full. Subsequent appearances of a given publication should be abbreviated to the surname of the author and the first few words of the title supplied with a cross-reference in brackets according to the following formats:
• English – (cit. n. *);
• French – (ci-dessus, n. *);
• German – (o. Anm. *).
The name of the author must be in small-caps. (Note that in the JJP first names of female authors are given in full). Also, names of other persons appearing in footnotes must be in smallcaps.
Titles of cited works should be formatted according to the following patterns:
• monograph – name(s) (in small-caps) + title (in italics) + series name (in square brackets in italics) + place of edition + year of edition e.g., C. Rilly, Le méroïtique et sa famille linguistique [= Société d’études linguistiques et anthropologiques de France 454, Afrique et langage 14], Paris – Leuvain 2010, pp. 63–100.
Marie-Cécile Bruwier, Pharaons noirs. Sur la piste des quarante jours, Morlanwelz 2007, pp. 28–38.
• article in a journal – name(s) (in small-caps) + article title (in Roman type, in quotation marks) + journal title (in italics, in full) + volume (in Roman type) + year (in Roman type, in brackets)
e.g., A. J. Arkell, ‘An Old Nubian inscription from Kordofan’, American Journal of Archaeology 55 (1951), pp. 353–354, pl. 42 d.
• article in a joint publication – name(s) (in small-caps) + article title (in Roman type, in quotation marks) + [in:] name of editor(s) (in small-caps) + (ed.)/(eds.) + title (in italics) + series name (in square brackets in italics) + place of edition + year of edition
e.g., J. M. Plumley, ‘The Christian period at Qasr Ibrim. Some notes on the mss finds’, [in:] K. Michałowski (ed.), Nubia. Récentes recherches. Actes du colloque nubiologique international au Musée National de Varsovie, 19–22 juin 1972, Varsovie 1975, pp. 101–107.
A. Łajtar, ‘Late Christian Nubia through visitors’ inscriptions from the upper church at Banganarti’, [in:] W. Godlewski & A. Łajtar (eds.), Between the Cataracts.
Proceedings of the 11th Conference for Nubian Studies, Warsaw University, 27 August – 2
September 2006, I: Main Papers [= Polish Archaeology in the Mediterranean Supplement Series 2.1], Warsaw 2008, pp. 321–331, figs. 1–4.
In titles of monographs, joint publications and journals in English, all the words should be capitalized apart from articles and prepositions; in titles of articles, on the other hand, the words should begin with lower-case letters; see examples above.
If particular publications are cited frequently, a list of abbreviations can be prepared and placed in the first footnote.
Other remarks
Please, note that in English texts all the ordinal numbers must be written out in words; the only exceptions are footnotes and brackets.
Please, use en dashes between two numerals consistently (see examples above).
Names of persons appearing in the main body of text should be supplied with first names.
Please, use the following quotation marks both in the titles of articles cited and in quotes within the main text depending on the language of the article:
• English: ‘An Old Nubian inscription from Kordofan’,
• French: « An Old Nubian inscription from Kordofan »,
• German: „An Old Nubian inscription from Kordofan“,
• Italian: “An Old Nubian inscription from Kordofan”.
The authors submitting texts to The Journal of Juristic Papyrology should be aware that ‘ghostwriting’ and ‘guest authorship’ are symptoms of scholarly dishonesty. All such acts will be exposed by the editorial board, including notifying appropriate authorities.
