Author guidelines
Fundamenta Informaticae invites submissions of original research papers of the highest quality in all fields of theoretical computer science. Papers submitted to FI must be written in English and should not exceed 50 pages. If authors feel substantially more pages are needed, they should explain why to the handling editor. The submission is required to contain an ACM subject classification. The abstract should provide a concise and understandable presentation of the main contribution(s). The length of the abstract should not exceed 20 lines (in the provided style of the journal).
Fundamenta Informaticae publishes only original papers which have not been published previously, nor submitted for publication elsewhere. Nevertheless, papers previously published in conference proceedings are usually eligible for publication, provided that they are revised or extended versions of the original conference article.
Online submissions
The submission and typesetting of Fundamenta Informaticae is fully electronic. Papers should be submitted to Fundamenta Informaticae using our online submission system. Prior to submitting, authors must post their paper on CoRR/arXiv. As subject they must choose cs.* (e.g., cs.LO), and if asked by CoRR/arXiv to select a license, they select the simple non-exclusive license to distribute. (See the arXiv licence information in http://arxiv.org/help/license.) After publication of their preprint by CoRR/arXiv, papers can be submitted to the journal.
Managing editors perform an initial evaluation of submissions, qualify them for further proceeding, and assign them to a handling editor. Each submission will generally be refereed by two or three referees. Based on the referee reports, the handling editor will choose between three options:
