Guide for Authors
Aims and scope
Fuel Processing Technology (FPT) deals with the scientific and technological aspects of converting fossil and renewable resources to clean fuels, value-added chemicals, fuel-related advanced carbon materials and by-products. In addition to the traditional non-nuclear fossil fuels, biomass and wastes, papers on the integration of renewables such as solar and wind energy and energy storage into the fuel processing processes, as well as papers on the production and conversion of non-carbon-containing fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia, are also welcome. While chemical conversion is emphasized, papers on advanced physical conversion processes are also considered for publication in FPT. Papers on the fundamental aspects of fuel structure and properties will also be considered.

Benefits to authors
We also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Please click here for more information on our author services.
Please see our Guide for Authors for information on article submission. If you require any further information or help, please visit our Support Center
Types of Paper
Five types of papers are published: primary research papers (experimental and/or theoretical), scholarly reviews (including pertinent polemics), short communications, letters to the Editor, and invited review article.
A short communication is a concise but complete description of an investigation which will not be included in a later paper.

One author, preferably the corresponding author, of each of these 5 references should be listed as your nominated reviewers for your paper being submitted. None of the nominated reviewers should be a co-author of the current paper being submitted and/or has co-authored any papers during the past 18 months with any of the authors of the current paper being submitted. In rare cases, reasons for not meeting this requirement must be clearly justified in the covering letter. The editors reserve the right to use any or none of the nominated reviewers as the reviewers for your paper being submitted
• All references mentioned in the Reference List are cited in the text, and vice versa
• Permission has been obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Internet)
• A competing interests statement is provided, even if the authors have no competing interests to declare
