Instructions for Authors
Types of papers
Original Contribution:This is the most common manuscript type in “Colloid and Polymer Science”. Full-length paper (typically in a range 6-15 print pages (2 col.)) reporting significant new results. Clearly structured: Introduction, Experimental Section/Methods, Results & Discussion, Conclusions.
Short Communication: Reserved for urgent communication of highly important results in briefer form. Should usually not exceed eight print pages (2 col.) and four figures. Processed with high priority both in reviewing and (upon acceptance) publication preparation.
Invited Review:Only on invitation by the editors. Secondary literature: invited reviews provide comprehensive summaries and/or a broad overview of a given topic or field; describing illustrative examples, summarizing and referencing the relevant literature in the field.Authors of invited articles are encouraged to include a short biography (less than 500 char. of text & a photo; please upload them as biographical item and photo in step 6 of the submission process).
Review Article:Unsolicited reviews can be proposed for publication using this article category. As a piece of secondary literature, a review must provide a comprehensive summary and broad overview of the topical field, describing illustrative examples, and summarizing and referencing the relevant literature.
Perspectives:(Usually) On invitation by the editors. Secondary literature: based on a briefer (but concise) summary than reviews, perspectives articles dare an outlook on expected future developments & major research directions. Perspectives require corresponding seniority and expertise of the author(s), they offer a more subjective but visionary outlook.Authors of invited articles are encouraged to include a short biography (less than 500 char. of text & a photo).
Manuscript Submission
Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities – tacitly or explicitly – at the institute where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.

Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their papers. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.

A clear indication and an active e-mail address of the corresponding author
If available, the 16-digit ORCID of the author(s)
If address information is provided with the affiliation(s) it will also be published.
For authors that are (temporarily) unaffiliated we will only capture their city and country of residence, not their e-mail address unless specifically requested.
Abstract
Please provide an abstract of 150 to 250 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references.

Trial registration number and date of registration for prospectively registered trials
