BEFORE SUBMISSION
● Ethical Standards
○ AIMS is a member of COPE. Your article must adhere to all policies outlined in our Ethical Standards.
○ We follow COPE's guidelines and policies regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools: COPE Policy on AI tools.
● Submission Declaration
○ By submitting your manuscript, you attest that the work has not been previously published, has not been copyrighted, is not being submitted for publication elsewhere, and that its submission has been approved by all of the authors and by the institution where the work was carried out. Furthermore, submission indicates that any person cited as a source of personal communications has approved such citation, and that the authors have agreed that the copyright in the article shall be assigned to the publisher upon acceptance of the article.
● Submission Checklist
○ Before submitting your manuscript, make sure it fits into the journal’s Aim and Scope (Aim and Scope can be found at ACSE, AMC, AMMC, CAC, CPAA, DCDS, DCDS-B, DCDS-C, DCDS-S, EECT, FoDS, FAM, FCNT, FMF, IPI, JCD, JDG, JIMO, JMD, KRM, MCRF, MFC, NACO, PUQR) and that all information below is included (for more details, please check the relevant section in this Guide for Authors).
■ All authors’full names, email addresses, full affiliations and names of countries
■ One author has been designated as the corresponding author
■ Abstract
■ Keywords
■ MSC numbers
■ All figures and tables
■ All references
○ Further Considerations
■ Manuscripts cannot be previously published, copyrighted, or submitted for publication elsewhere, and must be approved by all authors and by the institution where the work was carried out.
■ Manuscript has been checked for spelling and grammar.
■ Permission has been obtained for use of the copyrighted material from other sources (including the Website).
■ Each reference mentioned in the References list is cited in your manuscript, and vice versa.
■ Policies detailed in this guide and Ethical Standards have been reviewed carefully.
■ One or two editors whose areas are closely related to the submission should be selected.
■ Authors must claim responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the work.
● Submission Preparation
To alleviate our referees’ burdensome hard work, please limit submissions according to the following guidelines (within any 12-month period from the same author, individually or as a co-author)
No more than THREE submissions to CPAA
No more than TWO submissions to DCDS
No more than TWO submissions to DCDS-B
○ Article Structure:
■ Language: Articles must be in English.
■ Format: Articles must be submitted in PDF format. Authors are strongly encouraged to use AMS-LaTeX (amsart) when preparing their manuscript because these manuscripts will move more quickly through the production and publication process.
■ Page numbers: Each page must be numbered consecutively.
■ Sections: Articles must have clearly numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered as 1.1, 1.2…etc., and subsubsections should be numbered as 1.1.1, 1.1.2…etc.
■ Introduction: State the aims and importance of your work, in the first paragraph start broadly and then zoom in to your specific focus, come right to the point, provide an adequate background but avoid a lengthy literature survey.
■ Body: Materials and methods must be described in sufficient detail. The results and discussion should be clear and concise.
■ Conclusion: A short conclusions section describing the main conclusions of your article may be included at the end.
■ Appendices: Appendices should be labeled A, B, C…etc., and should appear before the bibliography.
■ Bibliography: The bibliography should appear at the very end of your article and should contain all references cited in your manuscript. More information about how to create your bibliography can be found in the References subsection.
○ Essential Title Page Information:
■ Title:
● Titles should be concise and informative.
● Titles are to be in the sentence case. Meaning, only the first word and proper nouns are capitalized. If a theory, formula, or specialized equation contains names (like Navier-Stokes) they are capitalized, otherwise leave them lower case.
● Capitalization after a colon is required.
● Ensure the correct usage of articles. (a, an, the)
● Ensure the appropriate use of grammar and spelling.
Note: Changes to the article title after initial manuscript submission must be approved by the Handling Editor. These are considered as significant changes and it is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that a record of significant changes is kept during the submission process and is shared with the Handling Editor for approval.
More tips and suggestions can be found here.
Examples of titles done correctly:
“Optimal control of a stationary Navier-Stokes hemivariational inequality with numerical approximation”
“Global attractor of the Euler-Bernoulli equations with a localized nonlinear damping”
■ Author names, email addresses and affiliations:
● Include all authors given names and family names and make sure that all names are spelled correctly.
● Provide the e-mail address of each author, if available.
● Place the authors' complete affiliations (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all complete affiliations with superscript Arabic numerals after the author's name and in front of the appropriate affiliations. Provide the country name of each affiliation.
● Note on change in authorship: The original author(s) must provide a clear and sufficient explanation for authorship changes in a revision letter to the Handling Editor.
○ Changes in authorship include addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list compared to the initial submission. These are considered as significant changes and it is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that a record of significant changes is kept during the submission process and is shared with the Handling Editor for approval.
○ The Handling Editor must receive two materials from the original authors: 1) clear reasoning for the authorship change (if an author is added, this includes their specific contribution to the paper) and 2) written confirmation from all authors approving the change (including the author being added to or removed from the manuscript, if applicable). If the authors do not submit a revision letter containing sufficient explanation, the paper may be at risk of rejection. Final acceptance or rejection may ultimately be at the discretion of the journal’s Editor(s) in Chief.
○ The addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names is not permitted after an article is accepted. There must be exceptional scientific circumstances for this change to be considered. While the Managing Team considers the request, publication of the manuscript will be suspended. If the manuscript has already been published as an Early Access article or in a formal issue with volume and issue numbers, any requests approved by the Managing Team will result in a Correction.
■ Corresponding author: The corresponding author should be clearly indicated.
■ Current address. If an author has moved since the work described in the article was done, or was visiting at the time, a 'Current address' may be indicated as another affiliation address with superscript Arabic numerals added to that author's name and in front of the current affiliation address. The affiliation at which the author actually did the work must be retained as the main affiliation.
■ Footnotes: Any footnotes should be placed at the bottom of the first page. These may include short thanks, grant information, corresponding author.
○ Abstract
■ The abstract should briefly state the purpose of the research, the principal techniques and major conclusions. As the abstract must be able to stand alone, independent of the paper, references to citations and numbered elements from the paper (e.g. theorems, equations) should be avoided. If a reference is essential, it should be written out in full, rather than given by number. Acronyms must be spelled out upon their first use both in the abstract and in the paper. An upper limit of 250 words is recommended for the length of the abstract.
○ Keywords
■ Include 3-5 or more keywords in the footer of page 1 which will be used for indexing purposes. Avoid using abbreviations and plural words.
○ MSC Numbers
■ 2020 Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC2020) numbers must be provided and placed in the footer of page 1. These numbers can be found here.
○ Equations
■ Equations should be centered with the number placed in parentheses by the right margin.
○ Figures
■ Figures must be of high resolution and high contrast and Figures can be in .eps, .png, .jpg, or .pdf format. All figures must fit within the margins of the article.
○ Tables
■ Tables should be included within the TeX file using the table environment and not as images. Number tables consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text. Any notes can be placed below the table body.
