Submission Guidelines
The Journal of Emergency Management and Disaster Communications (JEMDC) is jointly published by Shanghai Chongxing Health Management Consulting Co., Ltd and World Century Publishing Corporation.
Publication Frequency: The frequency of publication is 2 issues per year, in every summer and winter. Articles will be published online first with DOI before a complete issue is available. The planned launch date of the journal is in the first half of 2020.
Open-Access Publishing: All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International(CC BY-NC 4.0) Licence and are immediately freely available to read, download, and share.
Article-Processing Charge: As part of the goal of disseminating knowledge, authors do not need to pay an article-processing charge. The publication cost is fully sponsored by Shanghai Chongxing Health Management Consulting Co., Ltd.
Manuscript Preparation: Manuscripts should be written in English. They can be research articles, case reports, or review articles that are related to the fields of interest of the journal. Authors are encouraged to keep the word count within 5000 words for research articles and case reports, and within 8000 words for review articles.
Manuscripts should be prepared in MS-Word format with all text, tables, figures, and appendices in one file. On the first page of the manuscript, please provide the article title and an abstract of 200 to 300 words and up to five keywords. Please submit a separate file including the authors' names (given name + surname format), affiliation(s), addresses, and contact information of the corresponding author.
Manuscript Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted online via Editorial Manager (EM), a fully web-based submission, peer-review, and tracking system.
If you are submitting via this new system for the first time, you will first be required to register. From the account you create, you will be able to monitor your submission and make subsequent submissions.
Peer Review: The journal operates a double-blind peer-review system, where the reviewers do not know the names or affiliations of the authors and the reviewer reports provided to the authors are anonymous.
Copyright: Submission of a manuscript indicates a tacit understanding that the paper is not actively under consideration for publication in other journals or has not been published anywhere before. Copyright of the papers shall be assigned exclusively to JEMDC. The transfer of copyright to IJEMDC shall take effect when the paper is accepted for publication.

JEMDC旨在加强卫生应急领域的学术研究与合作交流,并以医学领域的脆弱性及其影响因素为研究核心,探索医学应急管理学的学科建设。JEMDC于2020年11月出版第一期专刊,以新冠肺炎的挑战、决策与启示为主题。2021年7月,JEMDC出版第二期围绕紧急卫生政策、患者满意度及健康传播等,在线刊发10篇论文。为进一步增进本领域内的专业交流,本刊拟就“应急处置与灾难救援”进行第三期专题征稿。稿件收录范围及主体包括灾害医学与教育、应急处置管理、灾难分析与预防、灾难救援等研究,可着重就应急处置与灾难救援的战略、策略和管理进行论述,稿件类型包括论著、综述、指南等,发表语言为英文。
目前,JEMDC已被中国知网收录。中国知网作为中国知识基础设施工程,其对JEMDC的收录也标志着刊物发展跃上了新台阶,为期刊良性发展带来了机遇和路径。
Call for Papers
JEMDC aims to strengthen academic research and collaborative exchange in the field of emergency Management. The aim of the journal is to provide a platform that bridges different perspectives in the fast-evolving fields of emergency management and disaster communications, by presenting the latest information and encouraging researchers and practitioners to study the underlying relationships between these fields.
JEMDC launched the first special issue in November 2020 with the theme of “COVID-19: Challenges, Options, and Implication. In July 2021, JEMDC published the second issue, with a total of 10 articles published online, around emergency management, patient satisfaction, and health communication. To further enhance professional communication in this field, the journal is proposing a special call for manuscripts on emergency management and disaster relief. The scope and subject of manuscripts include disaster medicine and education, emergency response management, disaster analysis and prevention, and disaster relief, with emphasis on strategies, tactics and management of emergency response. All submissions should be prepared in English.
Currently, JEMDC has been indexed by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). As a knowledge infrastructure project in China, the inclusion of JEMDC in CNKI also marks a new level in the development of the journal, which brings opportunities and paths for the healthy development of the journal in future.
