Preparing Your Paper
Research Articles
These are the most common submission. Research Articles introduce and advance human dimensions concepts and theories related to wildlife and / or fisheries. The primary purpose is to offer empirical support for these theoretical or conceptual advancements explored. The secondary, but also important, purpose is to inform research, management, policy, and education related to wildlife and / or fisheries. Research Articles must provide a complete synthesis of the relevant literature on the concepts and theories examined, identify knowledge gaps in this literature, and propose research questions or hypotheses that are examined in the article to address some of these knowledge gaps. If your article does not provide a strong theoretical or conceptual contribution, you should consider submitting a Research Note or Findings Abstract instead (see details on these submissions below).
Should be written with the following elements in the following order: title page with any acknowledgments and declarations of interest statement, abstract page with keywords, main text introduction and literature review, methods, results, discussion, references, table(s) with caption(s), and figure(s) with caption(s).
Should be no more than 30 double-spaced (with title page) pages, inclusive of the abstract, tables and/or figures, references, figure captions, footnotes, endnotes. Papers exceeding the length limit will be returned to the authors and will not be sent out for peer-review until they are in compliance with this length limit.
Should contain an abstract of no more than 150 words.
