General info for authors
The journal Drvna industrija (Wood Industry) publishes scientific papers (original scientific papers, short note, preliminary papers and review papers), other contributions and professional information related to structure, properties and protection of wood and wood materials, application of wood and wood materials, mechanical woodworking, hydrothermal treatment and chemical processing of wood, all aspects of wood materials and wood products production and trade in wood and wood products, and events connected to the wood industry.
Submission of a manuscript implies that the manuscript has not been submitted for publication elsewhere or published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review or thesis, in which case it must be stated in a footnote) and the submission is approved by all co-authors (if any).
The scientific papers shall be published in English with an extended summary in Croatian. The titles, headings and all the relevant results shall be presented bilingually. Other articles are generally published in Croatian. The Editor’s Office shall provide the translation into Croatian for foreign authors. The scientific papers will be subject to a thorough review by at least two selected referees.
The Editorial Board shall make the choice of referees, as well as the decision about the classification of the paper and its acceptance (based on referees’ recommendations). All submissions are subjected to proofreading. The editors will require authors to modify the text in the light of the recommendations made by referees and language advisers, and they reserve the right to suggest shortening and text improvements.
Authors are fully responsible for the contents of their manuscript. It shall be assumed that the author has obtained the permission for the reproduction of portions of text published elsewhere, and that the publication of the paper does not infringe upon any individual or corporate rights.
Manuscripts shall report on true scientific or technical achievement. Authors are responsible for the terminological and metrological consistency of their manuscript.
The Journal does not charge fees for publishing an article nor any other fees.

Editorial process
This is a step-by-step guide to getting your manuscript published in the Journal:

·Pre-evaluation of the submitted manuscript (suitable or not for the Journal)
·Notification of manuscript pre-evaluation results

·Final decision about the classification of the paper and its acceptance
·Transfer of the copyright agreement (the Author allows the Publisher the right of first publication of his/her manuscript)

·Print and online publication of the paper/journal
Submiting a manuscript
Manuscript must be written in English (preferably UK for non-native speakers). If English is not the authors’ first language, it is highly recommended that the manuscript be given to a native speaker for editing and proofreading. The submission may be rejected if written in poor English, or not written according to the instructions to authors .
Manuscript submitted shall consist of no more than 15 single-sided ISO A4 (210 mm × 297 mm) sheets, including tables, figures and references, appendices and other supplements. Longer manuscript should be divided into two or more continuing series.
Authors can use the template, but are advised to read the instructions thoroughly beforehand. The text should be fully written using Times New Roman font (text, tables, graphs and figures), in normal style without additional text editing. Manuscript should be written in font size 12 (for title use font size 14), spacing 1.5. For manuscript layout use paper size A4, margins set to normal, background must be white. Do not format text in multiple columns.
Send the manuscript by e-mail as an attached document in MS Word format (.doc or .docx).
The first page of the manuscript submitted should contain full title, name(s) of author(s) with professional affiliation (institution, city and state), abstract with keywords. The last page should provide the full titles, posts and address(es) of each author with indication of the contact person for the Editorial Office.
Ethics policies: All research must have been conducted within an appropriate ethical framework. For studies involving humans or animals, details of approval by the authors’ institution or an ethics committee must be provided in the Methods section.
