GUIDE FOR AUTHORS
……
3. Preparing the Submission
ZAMM has adopted a new article layout. New LaTeX stylefiles can be found here: LaTeX_stylefile.zip.
Articles created in the old article layout will be converted into the new layout by the typesetter. Any source LaTeX code will be converted to XML, as this is an essential prerequisite for online publication. The XML version will then be used to create the final output in the current journal layout.
File types
Files conforming to the following guidelines will be
accepted preferably:
• LaTeX files coded according to the article style
sheets (LaTeX_stylefile.zip)
• Figures in Postscript (ps or eps) or tif format
should be included as separate files, clearly
marked with the Fig.-No.
• Supplementary material, for example appendices,
videos or animations (which will only be published in the online version, appendices as final PDF-file)
Also accepted:
• LaTeX files coded with an article class without any particular packages or definitions
• docx files (MS Word)
Figures
Figures should preferably be submitted in full color but should also be easily readable on a black/white printout.
Color figures are reproduced and published online at no cost. Figures should preferably be submitted in full color but should also be easily readable on a black/white printout.
Acknowledgments
Contributions from anyone who does not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed, with permission from the contributor, in an Acknowledgments section. Financial and material support should also be mentioned. Thanks to anonymous reviewers are not appropriate.
Footnotes
Footnotes can be placed at the foot of each page. They should be referred to in the text with consecutive, superscript Arabic numerals. Keep footnotes brief; they should contain only short comments tangential to the main argument of the paper and should not include references.
Graphical Abstract
The manuscript must contain a text for the ‘Table of Contents’, not to be mixed-up with the Summary.
Please include a short text (at most, 400 characters) as the last page of the manuscript. The text should evoke interest in your article. Repetition or a paraphrase of the title or the summary, and presentation of experimental details should be avoided.
Supporting Information
Supporting information is information that is not essential to the article but provides greater depth and background. It is hosted online and appears without editing or typesetting. It may include tables, figures, videos, datasets, etc.
Note: if data, scripts, or other artefacts used to generate the analyses presented in the paper are available via a publicly available data repository, authors should include a reference to the location of the material within their paper.
You may include captions for supplementary figures, tables or videos at the end of your manuscript.
Please use suitable compression technology to avoid exceedingly large movie files (>10 MB) for the benefit of referees' and readers' bandwidth and storage capacity. Also, please make sure that your movies are saved in a common format (such as MPEG, AVI, QuickTime, GIF) that can be played on at least two different computer platforms (out of Windows/MacOS/ Linux).
Please choose the File Designation "Supporting Information" on the File Upload screen.
Click here for Wiley’s FAQs on supporting information.
Revision Stage
Authors are required to reply clearly to each comment.
The changes of the revised manuscript must be marked.
For the submission of revised manuscripts and final manuscript files for publication, text and tables should be uploaded as a single Word DOC file. Upload this file as "Main Document". Tables should be preferably on separate pages after the reference list.
LaTeX revisions must still be uploaded as a single PDF generated from the revised source files. Please use the File Designation "Main Document" from the dropdown box. In addition please upload your TeX source files as “Supplementary Material Not for Review”.
