SCI写作中编辑和审稿人指出的语法小问题
在SCI论文中，有一些小的语法问题会被审稿人和编辑指出，非常小的语法错误多了，就会影响审稿人对稿件的评价，今天整理汇总一下。
时态的问题
Results部分一般用过去时，但是图和表用现在时，不用过去时。
Figures and tables are referred to in the present tense, not in the past tense.
比如： Table 1 shows xxxx
单复数的问题
单复数其实是最简单的，最不应该犯的语法错误，但是有时候在写作的时不注意还是会出现一些这样的问题，尤其是主句和从句的单复数，有时候不小心就忘记要保持一致了。
还有就是一些单复数不是很规则的单词
比如
单数：criterion
复数：criteria

句子表达时，相同的名词不用反复重复
The unnecessary repetition of the same noun in a series tends to cause wordiness. Identify the repeated words and eliminate them.
在一个系列中不必要地重复使用同一个名词容易造成词不达意。找出重复的词语并删除它们。
For example,
Original: The teacher taught first-grade students, fifth-grade students, and sixth-grade students.
例如：Original：老师教一年级学生、五年级学生和六年级学生。
Revised: The teacher taught first-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students.
修订版：老师教一年级、五年级和六年级的学生
dash (–)的使用
两个不同的人对同一个科学概念做出了贡献。
In a term like this, the dash (–) acknowledges the fact that there are two different people who share credit for the same scientific concept.
在这样的术语中，破折号（-）表示有两个不同的人对同一个科学概念做出了贡献。
比如,检验数据正态性的统计方法Shapiro–Wilk
复合形容词共同修饰前面的名词
复合形容词共同修饰前面的名词。为清晰起见，在复合形容词后加连字符。
For example,
Original: The study examined the long term effects of a low impact exercise program on the cardiovascular health of middle aged adults.
该研究考察了低冲击运动项目对中年人心血管健康的长期影响。
Revised: The study examined the long-term effects of a low-impact exercise program on the cardiovascular health of middle-aged adults.
该研究考察了低强度运动项目对中年人心血管健康的长期影响。
方差分析的术语chi-squared
Although this is frequently and colloquially referred to as "chi-square," it is more correct and technically accurate to state "chi-squared."
虽然这经常被通俗地称为 "chi-square"，但更正确和技术上更准确的说法是 "chi-squared"。
" Because of "和 " due to "不能互换使用。
"Because of" and "due to" cannot be used interchangeably. Rather, "because of" can be used interchangeably with "owing to" and "due to" can be used interchangeably with "caused by"
" Because of "和 " due to "不能互换使用。相反，" because of "可以与 " owing to "交替使用；"due to"可以与"caused by"交替使用。
In fact, a good way to verify correct usage is to check if the meaning of the sentence remains the same when "owing to" or "caused by" are used instead.
事实上，验证正确用法的一个好办法是检查在使用 " owing to "或 "cause by "时，句子的意思是否保持不变。
For instance, "I missed my class because of the rain" CAN be substituted with "I missed my class owing to the rain" but NOT with "I missed my class caused by the rain." Therefore, "because of" is used correctly in this sentence.
例如，"I missed my class because of the rain "可以用 "I missed my class owing to the rain "代替，但不能用 "I missed my class caused by the rain "代替。因此，在这个句子中，" because of "的用法是正确的。
看到" Because of "和 " due to "这两个区别讲解的时候，我就想到的中文里面“二”和“两”的区别，让人裂开。
