Author Guidelines
The International Journal of Industrial Engineering: Theory, Application and Practice (IJIETAP) strives to provide good service by delivering timely and constructive feedback and prompt responses throughout the submission process. All the submissions were made electronically. IJIETAP recommends all the authors go through the Author’s guidelines before submitting a manuscript.
The Journal language is English, and all contributions should be submitted in English.
The Journal publishes original, quality articles reporting advances in theory, techniques, methodology, applications, and practice; general surveys and critical reviews; educational or training articles including case studies; short communications; keynote papers; book reviews; announcements; etc., concerned with all aspects of Industrial Engineering.
The journal aims at emphasizing the use of engineering design and analysis and strives to maintain a balance between research and application and disseminate information to both researchers and practitioners. All papers submitted to the journal must have a numerical example from real life or a complete case study before they can be considered for publication in the journal. All papers should also demonstrate the design implications of the work. Purely theoretical and mathematical papers are discouraged and will be returned to the author without review.
Journal coverage areas include:
Data mining and Computational Intelligence
Production Planning and Control
Operation Research
Service Engineering (Healthcare, etc.)
Sustainability (Energy, Environment, etc.)
Information Systems and Technology
Management of Technology
Work Measurement, Human Factors, and Ergonomics
Quality, Reliability, Maintenance Engineering

Homeland Security (Defense, Disaster Preparedness, etc.)
Submission Process
Register yourself first. When you do so, please check yourself as “Author,” “Reader,” and “Reviewer.” Please indicate your reviewing interests. We recommend the authors with the highest degrees submit and offer themselves as reviewers. Make sure to include the salutation as “Prof.” and “Dr.” as appropriate. Since the Journal relies on volunteering services, this is important to the scientific community.
Please use the templates for all submissions and make them “blind-review ready” by removing any information about the authors, including names, affiliations, authors’ previous works, acknowledgments). Otherwise, the submission will be automatically declined.
We want to know that the submission belongs to the areas, in which IJIETAP has previously published papers. We recommend that you identify and cite at least 1 or 2 recent IJIETAP articles. Make sure to include the related papers in your reference list and send the revised manuscript by email. You can find recent articles in the following links or our Journal Archive.
Journal Archive or Recent Articles.
In Step 1: Comments to the Editor, you need to identify three potential reviewers. At least two reviewers must have different nationalities from the authors. The recommended reviewers must include their full names, affiliations, keywords for their expertise, and email addresses.
We require one corresponding author to register himself/herself as the reviewer. Please go to User Profile and mark on “Reviewer” role. Please add your reviewing interests as well.
Blind Review Policy requires you to identify the complete author information (Complete names without initial-only, affiliation, and country) at the time of submission.

English Proficiency
We require that the level of English in the manuscript is as high as the standard level in research publications. Therefore, the editors may request you to get the professional editorial service during the review process or after the acceptance, if the manuscript may benefit from it. You must agree with this provision before you submit the manuscript to IJIETAP.
Conflict of interest policy
To provide the most honest and objective review process possible, IJIETAP seeks to avoid conflicts of interest between authors, reviewers, associate editors, and editors.
A conflict of interest can originate whenever an editor, reviewer, or associate editor is associated with the author(s) in a way that would lead to a partial recommendation of the manuscript. In general, a conflict of interest is defined as any financial, personal, or other relationship with another person or organization that could inappropriately influence, or be perceived to influence, the review process.
Authors should not appoint editors, associate editors, or reviewers that fall into any of these categories. If an author wishes to nominate a person who represents a conflict of interest, they must reveal this relationship to the editor in their cover letter, along with an explanation of why they are nominating this person as a preferred reviewer, associate editor, or editor.
Likewise, if a reviewer, associate, or editor is invited to be on the editorial team for a manuscript and feel they cannot be impartial, they should notify the editorial office, and they will be relieved from handling the paper.
