IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications Submit a Manuscript
Information for Authors
The IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications (TWC) invites the submission of high-quality technical manuscripts on advances in the state-of-the-art of wireless communications. Both theoretical contributions (including new techniques, concepts, and analyses) and practical contributions (including system experiments, prototypes, and new applications) are encouraged.
We are making the following changes to streamline the submission process:
We are removing the requirement of a 100 word summary on Scholar One Manuscripts when submitting a paper.
Papers previously rejected by other journals no longer need to include a response from the previous reviewers to be considered for TWC. If it is a resubmission of a manuscript previously rejected by TWC, the authors still need to upload a point-to-point response outlining how the revision addresses the reviewers’ comments.
The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE PSPB Operations Manual (sections 8.2.1.C & 8.2.2.A). Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.
Corresponding authors from low-income countries are eligible for waived or reduced open access APCs.
Submission Instructions and Requirements
Transactions Papers should be concisely written and must be no longer than 30 single-column double-spaced pages (12-point font, approximately 30 lines per page with 6.5-inch line length) including the title, names of authors and their complete contact information, abstract, index terms, text, equations, figures, tables, appendices if any, and all references. References can be in 10 point font. Figures and tables should be placed along with text, rather than at the end of the paper. For a page size of 8.5 x 11 in (letter size), these requirements can be met easily by using the IEEEtran.cls file along with this heading and standard 1 inch margins, which need not even be specified: \documentclass[12pt, draftclsnofoot, onecolumn]{IEEEtran}. Official templates, if desired, can be accessed here.
Manuscripts which violate these requirements will be returned without review. The only exception is for revised papers where the required changes require substantial additional material, in which case the limit shall be a maximum 32 pages, if the permission of the handling Editor is given. In general, however, revised papers must also be 30 pages. In all cases, authors are responsible for page charges as spelled out below, which should serve as an additional incentive to be as concise as possible.
Two part papers that cannot each stand on their own merits will not be considered for publication. Papers should not include “Part I” or “Part II” in their title.
Transactions Comments or Corrections are used to make extremely specific comments on papers that were published in TWC, and typically serve the purpose of pointing out an important error or to propose an erratum or correction. Transactions Comments or Corrections are usually very short (often less than a printed page) and cannot contain any original contribution. Only Comments and Corrections that are deemed to contain critical information for the readership are considered for publication.
All submissions are handled Electronically through the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications Manuscript Central website.
Note that IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications is a hybrid journal that allows Open Access, at an additional charge of $2,045 per article, paid by the authors, in addition to the below page charges. If you choose the Open Access option you should contact the production staff upon submission of the final materials to insure that your paper will be classified correctly.
