Information For Authors
Any paper that is submitted for possible publication in the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology must satisfy the following requirements:
1. It must be prepared in accordance with approved IEEE practice.
2. New products information is of interest when emphasis is placed on advances in the art rather than on proprietary aspects. All technical articles shall be free from references which are of an advertising nature, such as trade names, company names, or codes, unless such references are absolutely essential for technical reasons.
3. The paper should contain a sufficient number of references so that a reader is conveniently led to other related work. Papers without references will normally be returned for correction prior to submission to the reviewers.
4. Please note that papers not relevant to the core topics of the TVT may be rejected. For instance, the Electric Vehicles (EV) papers using vehicles to handle energy management along highway, for train trackrail may belong to the transportation electrification. Such papers would be allowed. On the other hand, the papers dealing with microgrids should be submitted to other appropriate venues.
5. If a new submission is based on a published/accepted conference paper, the previous work must be cited during the journal submission, and the new submission should offer substantive novel contributions beyond the previous work. If a new submision is overlapping with another closely related submission not available publicly, the other submission is suggested to be uploaded for review purpose. These requirements fall under Author Responsibilities as listed in the IEEE PSPB Ops Manual, section 8.2.1.B. Please include a summary of differences and new contributions and the PDF file of the previous conference paper(s) under "Supporting Documents" category in the submission, and Failure to do so may result in immediate rejection! We do not accept any submission that is basically the same as a conference paper or papers in technical contents. In addition, please note that if the submitted paper has a plagiarism score of 30% or more, which is the threshold used by the IEEE to trigger plagiarism alarm, the paper may be subjected to rejection.
6. All papers submitted to this journal for review through Manuscrit Central (MC) must be double-columned with fonts no smaller than 10 in the final IEEE typesetting. Starting January 20th, 2020, initial (new) submissions must have a maximum page length of 14 pages for regular papers and 5 pages for correspondence, while final submissions / revised submissions have maximum page length of 16 pages for regular papers and 6 pages for correspondence papers! Please note that both references and biographies are included into these limits. Additionally, the title should be single columned. All submissions must follow these guidelines! A suggested style file by this editorial office can be found here with a sample LaTeX file. You can modify style files from IEEE website. Significant deviations from this template will result in a rejection.
7. All international language fonts must be removed. These fonts prevent the pages from displaying properly once the paper has been uploaded to Manuscript Central.
8. The editorial decision "Reject" for a paper is final. We do not accept any submission which is a revised version of previously rejected paper(s).
Detailed information on preparing material for authors is given on the IEEE Author Center webpage.
Figures and photos should be original proofs and not photocopies. Photos must be glossy prints with no screens. Laser prints are not acceptable in place of photos or where gray scale graphics are involved. All line drawings and photos should be large enough to be readily legible when the drawing is reduced to one- or two-column widths as much as 4:1 reduction from the original. Materials should be no larger than 22 x 28 cm (8 1/2 x 11inches). Do not incorporate electronic graphics into the paper. Graphs should be drawn with only the major coordinate lines showing, since a chart containing a large number of closely spaced lines will not reproduce legibly. Short "ticks," extending a short distance from the axes, may be provided for convenience in reading intermediate values.
Peer Review
The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE Publication Services and Products Board Operations Manual (https://pspb.ieee.org/images/files/files/opsmanual.pdf). Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.
