QUALITY AND RELIABILITY ENGINEERING INTERNATIONAL
Author Guidelines
Quality and Reliability Engineering International (QREI) is a journal devoted to practical engineering aspects of quality and reliability. QREI covers the development and practical application of existing theoretical methods, research and industrial practices. Articles in the journal will be concerned with case studies, tutorial-type reviews and also with applications of new or well-known theory to the solution of actual quality and reliability problems in engineering.
Papers describing the use of mathematical and statistical tools to solve real life industrial problems are encouraged, provided that the emphasis is placed on practical applications and demonstrated case studies. The scope of the Journal is intended to include components, physics of failure, equipment and systems from the fields of electronic, electrical, mechanical and systems engineering. The areas of communications, aerospace, automotive, railways, shipboard equipment, control engineering and consumer products are all covered by the Journal. Quality and reliability of hardware as well as software are covered. Papers on software engineering and its impact on product quality and reliability are encouraged. The Journal also covers the management of quality and reliability in the engineering industry. Special issues on a variety of key topics are published every year and contribute to the enhancement of QREI as a major reference in its field.

After Acceptance
1. Submission and Peer Review Process
New submissions should be made via the Research Exchange submission portal https://wiley.atyponrex.com/journal/QRE. Should your manuscript proceed to the revision stage, you will be directed to make your revisions via the same submission portal. You may check the status of your submission at anytime by logging on to submission.wiley.com and clicking the “My Submissions” button. For technical help with the submission system, please review our FAQs or contact submissionhelp@wiley.com.
For submissions started prior to May 27, 2021, please visit https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/qre to manage or complete your submission.
For help with submissions, please contact: qre-journal@wiley.com
This journal does not charge submission fees.
Free format submission
QREI now offers Free Format submission for a simplified and streamlined submission process.
Before you submit, you will need:
Your manuscript: this should be a PDF file including text, figures, and tables, or separate files – whichever you prefer. All required sections should be contained in your manuscript, including abstract, introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. Figures and tables should have legends. Figures should be uploaded in the highest resolution possible. References may be submitted in any style or format, as long as it is consistent throughout the manuscript. Supporting information should be submitted in separate files. If the manuscript, figures or tables are difficult for you to read, they will also be difficult for the editors and reviewers, and the editorial office will send it back to you for revision. Your manuscript may also be sent back to you for revision if the quality of English language is poor.
Non-LaTeX users. Upload your manuscript files. At this stage, further source files do not need to be uploaded.
LaTeX users. For reviewing purposes, you should upload a single .pdf that you have generated from your source files. You must use the File Designation "Main Document" from the dropdown box.
An ORCID ID, freely available at https://orcid.org. (Why is this important? Your article, if accepted and published, will be attached to your ORCID profile. Institutions and funders are increasingly requiring authors to have ORCID IDs.)
The title page of the manuscript, including:
Your co-author details, including affiliation and email address. (Why is this important? We need to keep all co-authors informed of the outcome of the peer review process.)
Statements relating to our ethics and integrity policies, which may include any of the following (Why are these important? We need to uphold rigorous ethical standards for the research we consider for publication):
data availability statement
funding statement
conflict of interest disclosure
ethics approval statement
patient consent statement
permission to reproduce material from other sources
clinical trial registration
If you are invited to revise your manuscript after peer review, the journal will also request the revised manuscript to be formatted according to journal requirements as described in the Main Text File section.
