Authorship
We only consider original articles, written in English, not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Submission of Manuscripts
All correspondence is done using the online Editorial Manager (link here below).
In case you encounter any difficulties while submitting your manuscript online, please get in touch with the responsible Editorial Assistant for algebra universalis by clicking on the "Contact us”-button from the toolbar.

Format of Manuscripts
Please prepare your manuscript as a LaTeX file, using the au document class. For the class file and detailed instructions, including a number of help files, go to the following algebra universalis Web site:

The Editorial Process
1. The Managing Editor, Marcel Jackson, will be notified of your submission, and will select a member of the Editorial Board who will be in charge of your article (taking into account your stated preference, if any).
2. Once you have an Editor, you correspond with the Editor using Editorial Manager. If you have any problems, please write to Brian A. Davey at
AU@latrobe.edu.au
whose job is to have a look at the LaTeX, and ensure that the paper be handled in an expeditious manner.
3. The accepted papers are handled by Brian Davey. He steers the papers to proofs and then inclusion in an issue of algebra universalis.
4. Please note that the final copy-editing is performed outside the Editorial Board. In particular, the authors should check their paper's proofs very carefully.
Open Choice
In addition to the normal publication process (whereby an article is submitted to the journal and access to that article is granted to customers who have purchased a subscription), Open Choice now provides an alternative publishing option. An Open Choice article receives all benefits of a regular “subscription-based” article, but in addition the full text is made available publicly through the journal’s online platform SpringerLink immediately after publication.
To publish via Open Choice upon acceptance of your article, please complete the relevant order form and provide the required payment information. Payment must be received in full before publication or articles will be published as a regular subscription-model article.
