Author Guidelines
Agricultural Economics is the journal of the International Association of Agricultural Economists, and aims to serve IAAE members by disseminating the most important research results and policy analyses in our discipline from around the world. The editors are selected by the Executive Committee of the IAAE, serving for a three-year term renewable once.
Submission of a manuscript is understood to imply that the article is original and is not being considered for publication elsewhere. Upon acceptance by the journal, the author(s) will be asked to transfer the copyright of the article to the publisher, to ensure its widest possible dissemination. Authors of accepted articles are also encouraged to prepare supporting materials including complete datasets and computer models for posting on the journal's website, to facilitate citation and use of that research.
The journal maintains a double-blind reviewing procedure. Manuscripts for consideration should be submitted electronically in PDF format, without indication of authorship, following the instructions provided online at:
https://editorialexpress.com/agecon
This procedure ensures that manuscripts and associated correspondence will be handled securely, with password-protected access from anywhere in the world. Use of the PDF format ensures that the anonymity of authors and the integrity of the paper are maintained.
Authors with limited internet access may also contact the editor directly:

Book reviews will be included in the journal on a range of relevant books which are not more than 2 years old. We are particularly interested in themed reviews comparing multiple books in an area of broad interest to our readership. Unsolicited complete reviews will not usually be accepted, but suggestions for reviews may be sent to the Editors.
Preparation of manuscripts
1. Articles should be written in American English. Authors are strongly advised to have their manuscripts checked carefully for spelling, grammar and usage before submission.
2. Manuscripts can be prepared using any document-processing software. They should then be converted to PDF format for submission. Conversion to PDF can be done using a wide range of software tools, from the originator of this standard (www.adobe.com) or from other firms (such as www.cutepdf.com).
3. The first page of the manuscript should show the paper’s title. The manuscript should make no reference to author names since refereeing will follow a double-blind procedure. For ease of reading, manuscripts should use wide margins, double spaced text, with all pages numbered consecutively.
4. A separate cover page with author names and affiliations is to be submitted simultaneously as a PDF file or in plain text, for the editors’ use only.
5. A brief abstract, typically on the order of 100-200 words, should be prepared and will be entered as plain text at the time of submission.
6. Formatting should be as in previous issues of the journal, except that figures and tables should be presented together at the end of the manuscript.
7. Manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words, or word-equivalents, including abstract, figures, tables, and graphs.
