NONLINEAR DYNAMICS
INTRODUCTION
Manuscript Submission
Submission of a manuscript implies: that the work described has not been published before; that it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else; that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, as well as by the responsible authorities – tacitly or explicitly – at the institute where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.
Permissions
Authors wishing to include figures, tables, or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright owner(s) for both the print and online format and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their papers. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.
Online Submission
Please follow the hyperlink “Submit manuscript” on the right and upload all of your manuscript files following the instructions given on the screen.
Please ensure you provide all relevant editable source files. Failing to submit these source files might cause unnecessary delays in the review and production process.
Online Submission
Submit manuscripts via the Springer Nature Editorial Manager at https://www.editorialmanager.com/nody and follow the submission steps after registering as Author. Choose New Submission and Select Article Type by choosing either Original Research or Review from the drop-down menu. Special Issues are only by invitation unless otherwise indicated.
For initial submissions you may upload a single manuscript file. While full source files are encouraged, we understand that you may prefer to submit only a PDF at this stage and defer the upload of relevant editable source files upon acceptance.
All source files you upload in the online submission system will be automatically compiled into a single PDF file to be approved by you at the end of the submission process. While the compiled PDF will be used for peer-review purposes, your uploaded source files will be transferred to the publisher for publication upon acceptance.
Please do not use subfolders for your LaTeX or Word submission, e.g. for figures or bibliographic files. Further technical information on uploading and compiling your submission can be found under
http://www.editorialmanager.de/pdf/latex/
Track your paper after submission by selecting Submissions being processed.
Pre-screening and Pre-Review
Due to the large volume of submissions to the Journal, a goal of maintaining the highest possible standards for the journal, and limited reviewer resources, each submission and revised submission are subject to a pre-screening and a preliminary review. The preliminary review partially assesses whether the paper is suitable for the journal, and, if so, sufficiently novel and significant to merit further consideration. It is the responsibility of the authors to demonstrate the significance and novelty of the reported results. After the preliminary review, the paper may be assigned to a handling editor for peer review, requested a first revision and re-evaluation, or declined publication consideration.
Peer Review
Nonlinear Dynamics uses single blind peer review. The handling editor invites reviewers based on expertise, publication history, and past reviews, and invites them to provide feedback on the manuscript. After agreeing to review, external peer reviewers typically have 21 days to submit their review (for first submissions). The journal editorial office will follow up with late reviewers and keep you informed if there are any delays.
Reviewers remain anonymous unless they choose to identify themselves by signing their name to their review in our submission system.
Revisions
If the handling editor decides that your manuscript has the potential to be published, but requires changes, you will be invited to revise it. You will have 45 days to resubmit the revised manuscript for both a major or a minor revision.
In most cases, the revised manuscript is re-assigned to the original handling editor. The editor may make a new decision based on their own assessment of the revised manuscript and your response to reviewers, or request additional input from external peer reviewers.
