Statistical analysis section must be included as second level heading and it should report the experimental unit (e.g. individual animal, group/pen of animals), the whole statistical model adopted (defining fixed and random variables), post-hoc test and level of significance adopted. When analysis of variance is adopted, a residual error term, such as the pooled standard error of means (SEM), the residual standard deviation (RSD), or the root mean square error (RMSE) is given for each criteria/item/variable/trait in a separate column (or line).

Results and Discussion:

The two sections can be reported separately or combined. In both cases, all the results should be listed and discussed, according to the related literature.

Conclusions:

In this section, some conclusive sentences about the main results obtained and their relevance in the field should be reported.

Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms. RefSNP (rs) or submitted SNP (ss) number (if rs number is not yet available) should be used for unequivocal and correct SNP identification. RefSNP and submitted SNP are available at the public domain NCBI dbSNP database ( http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/snp).

Enzyme. Nomenclature of enzymes should conform to the recommendations of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology ( http://www.chem.qmul.ac.uk/iubmb/enzyme). Include the Enzyme Commission (EC) number, when the enzyme is cited for the first time in the text.

The use of trivial name should be always used together the systematic name, when the fatty acid is cited for the first tie in the text.
