Guidelines to Authors

General rules

Journal of Agrometeorology, a quarterly journal appearing in March, June, September and December published by “Association of Agrometeorologists” Anand, includes the articles relevent to the discipline contributed by the members of the Association and invited articles of eminent researchers in the field.

The journal publishes full- length papers, short communication based on new findings/approaches/methods etc preferably with multi locations/years/seasons data and review articles in English only.

Manuscript (s) submitted for the publication in the journal should not contain material already published in any form or even a part of it offered for publication elsewhere. The manuscript should be written correctly, clearly, objectively and concisely with 2 - 3 relevant references appeared in any issue of JAM.

A mandatory certificate of originality and other issues (as per format) duly signed by all the authors and endorsed by Head / Director should be appended at initial submission of manuscript.

All the statements made in the manuscript (s) should be clear, unambiguous, and to the point in accordance with the format of the Journal.

Manuscript (s) submitted for publication should have updated & latest relevant data preferably not older than 2 years/crop seasons on the date of receipt of article in the office of the Association.

Along with manuscripts initial submission, author should ensure to append permissible report (20% similarity) for plagiarism check using appropriate open source / licensed software for the purpose.

The first author must be a member of the Association of Agrometeorologists at the time of initial submission of manuscript. After acceptance of paper all authors must be a member of the Association of Agrometeorologists. However, it may be noted that becoming a member of the association does not guarantee the publication of the research paper.

All research papers are published after peer review and subsequent approval by the Editorial Board of the Journal.

Submission of manuscript does not guarantee its acceptance or publication in the Journal of Agrometeorology.

Preparation of manuscript

Articles should not exceed 15 double spaced typed pages including references, tables, figures etc.

Title of contribution should be short, specific and phrased to identify the content in the article and include the nature of the study. It must write in running letters with first letter capital.

The names and initials of the place where research was conducted should be given as the by-line. Any change in the address of correspondence address should be given in a footnote. AUTHORS NAME should be in capital letters.

Paper may be outlined under main heading-ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, MATERIALS AND METHODS, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSION if any, ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS, REFERENCES and should be in capitals.

Manuscript should be typed in 12 pt Times New Roman in double space throughout on A4 size paper with a minimum 3 cm left margin. The manuscript should be initially submitted through email to secretary.aam@gmail.com with a copy to managingeditorjam@gmail.com.

Abstract should not exceed 200 words. Key words upto 6 may be given beneath the abstract.

Where the methods are well known, citation of standard work would suffice.

The result may be supported by tables or graphics, wherever necessary. Self- explanatory tables should be on separate sheets, with appropriate titles. While referring in texts, the first letter in Table and Fig. should be capital with Fig. in short form.

References should be cited chronologically in the text. All references in the text must be listed at the end of the paper, with names of the author arranged alphabetically; all entries in the text must correspond to references in the text.

The references should include the names of the authors, year, full title of the article, name of the journal (abbreviated form), volume number and pages. In case of book and monographs etc. the name of publishers, place, and year with total number of pages should also be given. Journal title should be italic in abbreviated form.

Authors are requested to follow the international system of units for exact measurement of physical quantities.

Non-conforming with the above guidelines, manuscripts will not be processed and the decision may be intimated to the author (s) by the Association’s office.

Manuscript is typed in double space throughout in 12 pt Times New Roman.

Sub-headings are left aligned in italic.

Check all references cited in the text are in the references and vice-versa.

Give journal name in abbreviated forms in italic in the references.

Book title and report name are given in full.

Tables and Fig. are on separate page and numbered in the order in which discussed in the text.
