INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS
The IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON COMPONENTS, PACKAGING, AND MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY publishes research and application articles on modeling, design, building blocks, technical infrastructure, and analysis underpinning electronic, photonic and MEMS packaging, in addition to new developments in passive components, electrical contacts and connectors, thermal management, and device reliability; as well as the manufacture of electronics parts and assemblies, with broad coverage of design, factory modeling, assembly methods, quality, product robustness, and design-for-environment.
CONTENT
The technical content of papers should be both new and significant. Experimental data should be complete and should include sufficient descriptions of experimental apparatus, methods, and relevant experimental conditions. Original, unpublished papers are preferred. However, a paper presented at a conference or published in a limited-circulation journal or proceedings may be considered for this TRANSACTIONS if the topic warrants and previous circulation does not substantially duplicate that of this TRANSACTIONS. For papers presented at a conference, the author should do the following.
1) Make significant additions/modification to the paper. This could include: new data and detailed analysis of the experimental results; addition of references to the previous work of others (not previous work by the authors); a discussion of the previous work and how the author’s work expands or builds on the previous work: a discussion of how the author’s results compare/contrast the previous work; etc.
2) Reference the previously published paper in the reference section (this is an IEEE requirement).
3) Change the title to reflect the fact that the paper has been “significantly” modified.

ORCID Required
All IEEE journals require an Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) for all authors. ORCID is a persistent unique identifier for researchers and functions similarly to an article’s Digital Object Identifier (DOI). ORCIDs enable accurate attribution and improved discoverability of an author’s published work. Abstract Description and Specifications
The abstract must be a concise yet comprehensive reflection of what is in your article. In particular:
• The abstract must be self-contained, without abbreviations, footnotes, or references. It should be a microcosm of the full article.
• The abstract must be between 150–250 words. Be sure that you adhere to these limits; otherwise, you will need to edit your abstract accordingly.
• The abstract must be written as one paragraph, and should not contain displayed mathematical equations or tabular material.
• The abstract should include three or four different keywords or phrases, as this will help readers to find it. It is important to avoid overrepetition of such phrases as this can result in a page being rejected by search engines.
• Ensure that your abstract reads well and is grammatically correct.

OPEN ACCESS
This publication is a hybrid journal, allowing either Traditional manuscript submission or Open Access (author-pays OA) manuscript submission. Upon submission, if you choose to have your manuscript be an Open Access article, you commit to pay the dis-counted $2,045 OA fee if your manuscript is accepted for publication in order to enable unrestricted public access. Any other application charges (such as overlength page charge and/or charge for the use of color in the print format) will be billed separately once the manuscript formatting is complete but prior to the publication. If you would like your manuscript to be a Traditional submission, your article will be available to qualified subscribers and purchasers via IEEE Xplore. No OA payment is required for Traditional submission.
OVERLENGTH PAGE CHARGES
A mandatory Overlength Page Charge of $175 per page (beginning with page 9 and beyond) is required for papers in excess of eight printed pages. The purpose is to encourage tight editing and elimination of tutorial and background material from manuscripts and thus allow additional papers to be published within the annual page count limits for this TRANSACTIONS.
Authors who cannot honor mandatory page charges will be requested to reduce their manuscripts to eight printed pages or less prior to final acceptance and scheduling for publication.
